Dundee made four changes to the team which played last week at TNS. Tyler French, Joe Grayson, Josh Mulligan and Zach Robinson replaced Jordan Marshall, Max Anderson, Ben Williamson and Cillian Sheridan.
Both teams struggled in the first ten minutes then Dundee had a couple of chances Ashcroft had a header saved and then Cameron headed over the bar after a McGhee cross. Jordan McGhee also had a shot but his effort was too high.
But on 29 minutes it changed when Dundee took the lead a good pass from Joe Grayson put Lyall Cameron through on goal and the young midfielder finished with a low shot for a good goal.
Second half and Joe Grayson was replaced by Ben Williamson who fitted in well and Dundee had a few chances but failed to take them Cameron missed two and Mulligan all efforts were either blocked or saved.
Adam Legzdins then had a good save to keep Dundee in the lead when he blocked a shot. Hamilton had a few chances and hit the top of the bar, then after that McGhee done well to clear the danger.
Zak Rudden and Max Anderson replaced Zach Robinson and Josh Mulligan. The substitutes almost settled the game with yet another breakaway but Rudden’s shot struck a defender.
But Dundee sealed the game with a great second goal Paul McMullen sent Luke McCowan clear on goal and the youngster finished well to the delight of the Dundee fans.
A fine win for the Dark Blues and the next three game will tell a story of how our league form is going.
