News From Dens

Dundee are delighted to announce that Imari Samuels has signed a new deal, committing his future until the summer of 2029 with a club option to extend further.

Defender Samuels joined the club in January 2025 from Brighton & Hove Albion, making his debut a week later in the Scottish Cup derby win at Tannadice.

The 23-year-old made 38 appearances last season. Having missed the start of this season due to injury, Samuels made his return to the side away to Heart of Midlothian in September and has started every game since.

Great news for the club as we build the squad up for the future.

Killie Photos and Giorgi Nemsadze

Before the game their was a minute's applause in memory of Giorgi Nemsadze. The Dundee players wore black armbands, and there was a special match programme in his honour.

Giorgi is the best player I have seen playing for Dundee, a special talent in a great side from that time between 2000-2003.

Some great goals, I was lucky enough to go to Grimsby Town, Tannadice for his best goal for Dundee, Hampden Semi-Final winner, and Aberdeen to finish in the top six. Also I was down to see Giorgi play in Julian Speroni's Testimonial in 2015.

Some photos from Thursday night below:

Dundee 3, Kilmarnock 1, Dens Park, William Hill Premiership, 28th October 2028

Dundee started with mainly the same team. Owen Bevan was out injured and was replaced by Joe Wright.

Dundee started brightly and Fink had a shot at goal which was well off target. Killie attacked as well and they put a dangerous cross in thankfully no one got on the end of it.

Joe Bevan had a couple of good runs, firstly he got a corner, then soon after he hit the side netting after beating three players.

The Dark Blues should have taken the lead after half an hour. Alan Forrest’s second ball following a corner gave Bradley Fink a free close range header. Keeper Nico Mantl parried but the ball flew back at Fink so quickly that the striker could only poke it against the post with the goal gaping.

But two minutes later it was 1-0, a great pass from Hamilton found Joe Bevan who got into the box and finished well to score.

Soon after a good cross found Ethan Hamilton in space but he put it over the bar from close range.

But half-time came and really Dundee should be ahead by more.

Second half started and both team attacked with Kilimarnock doing well, it took a great one handed save from Goodman to deny them.

Dundee struggled in midfield, giving the ball away too much, while Killie had another good effort. Again Owen Goodman saved well.

After an hour Charlie Reilly replaced Joe Bevan, and Dundee made a double substitution. Joe Westley came on for Bradley Fink in attack, and Matai Akinmboni was given his debut in central defence with Joe Wright coming off.

In the next attack Kilmarnock were awarded a penalty when Stanger went down, it looked soft, and no VAR check. Hugill scored from the spot to make it 1-1.

The disappointing setback kicked the Dark Blues into life. There was one more Dundee change; Zan Besir came on for Callum Jones. The Dee showed that they were not prepared to settle for a point and impressed once more as they began to attack with real purpose.

Minutes later from a good Reilly cross was put home by Hay, but it was ruled no goal due to hand ball.

Three minutes later Ashley Hay scored with a superb header from a good Forrest cross. Killie pushed forward but put their effort over the bar.

In injury time a long ball from Goodman was flicked on by Ashley Hay and with the Killie keeper rushing off his line Hay chased and nodded the ball forward, beat the keeper to it and went on to score with a superb finish. It sealed the three points and 4th place in the league.

St Mirren Photos

St Mirren 2, Dundee 1, Marbill Coaches Stadium, William Hill Prermiership, 24th October 2026

Dundee started with the same team that played last game. Same bench as well. Dundee kicked off and struggled in the first half on a sodden pitch with more rain and wind as the half went on.

St Mirren scored on 20 minutes when after a quick break Ramsay got clear to score, Goodman blocked the ball but it was not enough to stop the ball from going into the net.

St Mirren continued to play better than the dark blues. The wing up the left hand side where water was starting to stay on the pitch made it hard for both teams.

Second half and again St Mirren looked better and doubled their lead when Sule headed home after a good cross.

At least after this Dundee started to play Hay should have scored with a header which he put wide from 6 yards out. Then Ryan Astley carried the ball forward into the Buddies’ half and sent a lovely pass through to send Bradley Fink into the penalty area and shoot. Chapman stopped the first shot but was helpless with Fink's follow up that found the net.

Dundee pushed forward looking for a goal, and a few times the ball would not fall in the box. St Mirren had a great chance to finish the game, but thankfully they missed.

In injury time Hamilton made room in the box and his shot smashed off the underside of the bar and down and out to deny a point for the dark blues.

Time ran out but after watching the game a draw would be the least Dundee would have deserved,. Next game is Kilmarnock at Dens where we will hopefully get back to winning ways.

Dundee: Goodman, DreyWright, Astley, Owen Bevan, Samuels, Joe Bevan (Reilly 61), Jones( Finnigan 68), Hamilton (c), Forrest, Fink, Hay. Unused Subs: O’Hara (gk), Halliday, Odutayo, Akinmboni, Zan Besir, Joe Wright, Harrison.

Rangers Photos

Dundee 2, Rangers 2, Dens Park, William Hill Premiership, 17th October 2026

Dundee were unchanged from the Falkirk game. Ryan Finnigan and Charlie Reilly returned from injury to take places on the bench where they were joined by Zan Besir after suspension.

The first 15 minutes both teams kept the ball well and were sizing each other up, But after this Dundee started to play some great attacking football.

Alan Forrest played Joe Bevan through but the young winger shot wide. Ash Hay smacked a powerful header against the crossbar from Ethan Hamilton’s corner. Rangers lost the ball trying to play out from the back and Hamilton’s quick shot flew narrowly wide from 25 yards.

Rangers had their moments as well but the efforts were not on target. But Dundee took a well deseved lead on 37 minutes. A long ball found Ash Hay battling with Sterling on the edge of the penalty area. The ball broke nicely for Bradley Fink who calmly dribbled round keeper Ivor Pandur and scored from a narrow angle.

A great finnish from the Dundee striker who's movement around the box is first class. Three minutes from the interval Dundee couldn’t clear a Gassami cross. Minsu’s shot was blocked but Bouanani curled an unstoppable shot round a crowd of players into the top corner from 16 yards.

Second half  and Dundee started well but Rangers had a great spell for around 20 minutes. Owen Goodman made two grat saves to deny Rangers.

Dundee were struggling to get through Rangers’ defence but passed up a good chance when Callum Jones took a free kick wide on the right. Fink found himself free at the far post but sent his header straight at Pandur.

They took the lead when Raskin finished well, he was given some room but his goal gave Goodman no chance of saving. Rangers tried to finish the game with a third goal, but the Dundee playes all fought and defended well.

They got a break on 69 minutes when Rangers were slack with a pass and in nipped Callum Jones to score with a great cool finish.

Both teams had chances Goodman saved well twice, and Dundee had a couple of efforts which did not hit the target.

But they were able to see out time to secure a big point from the leagues leaders. The players were first class tonight and fully deserved the point.

Dundee: Goodman, Drey Wright, Astley, Owen Bevan, Samuels, Joe Bevan (Harrison 67), Jones,  Hamilton (c), Forrest, Fink, Hay. Unused Subs: O’Hara (gk), Halliday, Odutayo, Akinmboni, Finnigan, Besir, Reilly, Joe Wright.

Falkirk 1, Dundee 2, Falkirk Stadium, William Hill Premiership, 10th October 2026

Dundee made two changes to the starting eleven. Joe Bevan and Ash Hay came in for the injured Jack Moorhouse and Joe Westley.

Dundee kicked off and forced Bain in the Falkirk goal to stop Fink scoring with a volley. It set the tone of the game as Dundee played some good football.

After 12 minutes Drey Wright came close to a spectacular opening goal. Dundee took a short free kick just inside their own half and Wright went for goal. Bain had to move quickly to get back and tip the ball over the bar.

Minutes later Hay was denied when again Bain saved. Despite the Dark Blues’ promising opening it was Falkirk who took the lead after 31 minutes. Callum Jones was about to clear from the penalty area when Finley Barbrook nipped in front of him and was caught by the swinging boot. Jacob Murrell converted the resulting penalty kick.

It looked soft to me, but at least the team kept attacking and Falkirk had the last chance of the half when McCann shot went wide of the post.

Second half and with Dundee playing towards the Dundee fans it started well. On 52 minutes the game was level, when a corner fell beyond the far post. Joe Bevan kept the ball in play and Ethan Hamilton set up Drey Wright to cross. The delivery was perfect for Owen Bevan to power home a close range header.

After this Dundee took total control of the game. Joe Bevan sent in a fierce 25 yard shot that Bain did well to turn out for a corner. Fink miskicked his volley when Hay’s header set up the chance.

Falkirk finally got a serious effort on target when Ben Krauhaus managed an angled shot, but Owen Goodman saved well.

Both teams now were going for a winner, and it was the Dark Blues who got it, a great cross from Ethan Hamilton was controlled and finished by Ashley Hay to the delight of the Dundee fans.

That was in injury time and Dundee ran the clock down to seal three massive points for the club.

Dundee: Goodman, Drey Wright, Astley, Owen Bevan, Samuels, Joe Bevan, Jones, Hamilton (c), Forrest,  Fy Fink, Hay. Unused Subs: O’Hara (gk), Akinmboni, Odutayo, Joe Wright, Leiper, Harrison, Halliday,  Bland, Hughes.
