Dundee 1, Aberdeen 1, Dens Park, SPFL Premiership, 21-March-15

Manager Paul Hartley made several changes to the starting line up with Simon Ferry, Paul McGowan and David Clarkson coming in for injured Harkins, McAlister. Striker Greg Stewart was at least on the bench for the visit of second place Aberdeen.

It took a wee while for Dundee to settle and create their first chance and it could have a penalty after a lofted ball from McGinn found McGowan running into the box and Dons keeper Langfield took the midfielder out with a clumsy challenge. It looked a penalty to me but Craig Thomson said no and play was going from end to end. Dundee's next chance came when Stephen McGinn made a good run from midfield and his shot beat Langfield but it went just past the post. Aberdeen could have had a penalty when Willie Dyer blocked a shot which struck his hand to the surprise of everyone Thomson again waved away appeals from the Aberdeen players. Aberdeen did take the lead shortly before half-time when good play from Driver and his pass freed Adam Rooney who finished well. It was a poor goal from Dundee's point of view.

Second half and the game became very scrappy with both teams finding it hard to play flowing football, Adam Rooney might have scored again but Scott Bain made a fine save form the striker's header, but then Dundee created another great chance a ball was well played in the box and Clarkson missed it when it looked easier to score. But Dundee levelled on 68 minutes after good link up play from Harris and McGinn and S McGinn scored his first goal for the club with a neat finish at the front post. Dundee kept up the pressure and were unlucky not to snatch a winner. Aberdeen could have won it near the end but again Scott Bain made a good save to deny Niall McGinn.

It was good to see Greg Stewart get the last 20 minutes it will help his match fitness, for next up is a away trip up to Inverness in two weeks time.

Ross County 1, Dundee 0, Global Energy Stadium, 28-February-15

After a long Saturday at work l was hoping to be cheered up with a good Dundee result at Dingwall, but as usual it was another 1-0 defeat and poor performance up there. Paul McGowan missed out due to injury with Gary Harkins coming in.

The only chance in a poor first half was for County when Gardyne shot over from just inside the box, the highlights I have seen it looked like County won the midfield battle and when Greg Stewart had to go off injured due to some heavy challenges made Dundee struggle even more.

Second half and it was much the same vein with County looking more like to score Scott Bain made a good save with he touched a shot onto the post, but County's winner came in 65 minutes when Reckord tapped the ball home after good work by Gardyne. Soon after they hit the bar but as the game went out Dundee could not create any real chance in the final third of the pitch.

At least the teams around us in the league lost as well so we are still in the top six for now. The team now has a chance to recover as we don't have any games for a couple of weeks.

Dundee: Bain, Paul McGinn, McPake, Konrad, Dyer, Stephen McGinn, Thomson (Ferry 60), Harris (Black 81), McAlister, Stewart (Wighton 44), Harkins. Unused Subs: Letheren (gk), McBride, Gadzhalov, Colquhoun.
