St Johnstone 2, Dundee 0, McDiarmid Park, Ladbrokes Premiership, 20-April-19

Back to Perth for the first game of the final five games to save our season . Manager Jim McIntyre made two changes Kenny Miller and Scott Wright replacing Callum Moore and Jesse Curran.

Both teams took a while to get going in the sun, Dundee struggled to get the ball forward and seemed to lack width to their  attacks. St Johnstone had a few attack and Dieng made a couple of decent saves to keep Dundee in it.

Near half time Paul McGowan had a decent effort from 20 yards which just went over the bar. Overall it was poor stuff from both sides.

Second half and Dundee struggled to get into the game, it was no surprise when they took the lead, Saints got a free kick at the edge of the box, and Tanser curled a beauty into the top corner, although Dieng got a hand to it he could not stop it. It was a fine free kick and the home side deserved to be ahead.

Jesse Curran replaced Scott Wright, as Dundee continued to struggle and they made more  changes Andrew Nelson  coming on for Kenny Miller, but it made little difference. Minutes later it was two nil and game over. Hendry heading home after neat wing play from the Saints.Craig Curran was inches away from scoring but could not connect on Nelson's cross into the six yard box.

The game ended and Saints could have scored more and were never in danger. Dundee need to find form in the last four games.

On this display it looks very unlikely and Relegation is staring the Dark Blues in the face. Next up is a trip to Motherwell which will be tough but they have to win to keep our slim hopes alive.
