We left Cupar at 03:42 for the game which had a 17:30 kick-off. We got to Oldham around 11pm. We had our lunch and we were joined by mates Malc and Eddie. We had a few pints and had a good laugh about times bygone. To the game:
Oldham struggle from the start. Salford winger Luke Molyneux scored in the fifth minute when his cross from the right flew into the far corner, eluding everyone.
Oldham halved the deficit in the 21st minute when Calum Kavanagh fired home a shot low to the left of keeper Will Norris.
There was a bizarre incident at the end of the opening half when referee Isaac Searle signalled four added minutes but blew his whistle after three. When his attention was drawn to the error, he beckoned the players back on to complete the time.
Salford restored their two-goal advantage in the 57th minute when Brendan Wiredu squeezed a shot past Hudson, and substitute Adebola Oluwo headed home in the 81st minute from Luke Garbutt's free-kick as the Latics fell to a fourth straight league loss.
Overall Oldham were poor and salford looked much stronger in midfield. Defensive wise Latics struggled and it told by the scoreline. Tough times ahead now as they must get results soon in the upcoming fixtures.
