Dundee made two changes from the team that beat Queen’s Park last week. Ben Williamson kept his place after coming off the bench and scoring, and Josh Mulligan started after completing his suspension. They replaced Lyall Cameron and Paul McMullan, who were on the bench.
The came started pretty scrappy and then Hamilton scored a cracking goal when Smith smashed the ball homw high into the corner of the net.
At least it turned the game into a contest as both teams went for it, twice Dundee went close but somehow Accies were able to clear.
But on 38 minute Dundee finally levelled the game when Jordan McGhee headed home from a cross from Sam Fisher which set up a good second half.
Second half and Paul McMullan came on for Josh Mulligan to boost the Dundee attack. McMullan had a good shot which went just wide and then Thomas was unlucky with a header forcing a good safe from the Accies keeper.
Kwame Thomas was then replaced by Alex Jakubiak then after 74 minutes Dundee made three further substitutions, sending on Ryan Clampin, Max Anderson and Lorent Tolaj for Sam Fisher, Ben Williamson and Luke McCowan.
Twice the Accies keeper kept the ball out and near the end he somehow saved when the ball hit Sweeney it looked a certain goal.
The games last chance came when Lorent Tolaj headed over from Cammy Kerr’s cross.
Always a tough place to come so a point is better than a defeat.
