The centre back has been on trial at the club for the last two weeks and will now stay with the Dark Blues for the remainder of the campaign.
The 19-year-old made his professional debut for Loudon United while a member of the D.C. United academy.
He then worked his way into the first team at D.C. United, before moving to Bournemouth in January 2025.
Akinmboni is an age-grade USA international, making appearances at U19 and U20 level.
This signing will help boost the squad for that position in the team, which is great news. As injuries will happen during the season.
