Dundee 3, Aberdeen 2, Dens Park, William Hill Premiership, 17th May 2026

Dundee ended their Season with a fine 3-2 victory over Aberdeen, And doing so finished 8th in the Premier Division.  Which also earned the club an extra £170,000 which is a big bonus.

For the game Dundee made five changes to the starting eleven as the Dark Blues reverted to a 4-3-3 formation after playing 3-5-2 on Tuesday. Drey Wright, Ethan Hamilton, Cameron Congreve, Joe Westley, and Charlie Reilly came in for Brad Halliday, Clark Robertson, Joel Cotterill, Ash Hay, and Scott Wright.

Both teams started okay and it was end to end. Likely Aberdeen having the better chances, but it was Dundee who took the lead on 10 minutes with a fine worked goal. Good play by Hamilton and he found Congreve who's cross was headed down for Drey Wright to score.

A fine worked goal and Dundee looked to build on it after a couple od stoppages for injuries to Aberdeen players.

Finlay Robertson had a shot well saved by the Aberdeen keeper. But soon after Dundee lost a soft goal when a Cameron corner was headed home by Morrisson and he was not marked.

This changed the game a wee bit as Aberdeen took more control of the midfield.

Congreve did have a good opening but smashed the ball over the ball, when really should have hit the target. But as half time was close Aberdeen scored again. Another soft looking goal and a easy task for Olusanya who couldn’t miss from a couple of yards out.

That was a blow as the game was even for most the half. But goals count.

Second half and Dundee did attack and went close a couple of times. Just after the hour mark the Dark Blues put together a slick move that opened up Aberdeen and brought the equaliser. Congreve’s smart flick sent Reilly racing past Morrison, the last defender. Suman saved his shot but Joe Westley followed up to scoop the loose ball into the net.

Dundee put on Joe Bevan  for Reilly, and it did help the team go forward with pace. also after 76 minutes Simon Murray, Joel Cotterill and Tony Yogane to replace Joe Westley, Cameron Congreve and Ethan Hamilton.

It made Dundee look more dangerous and it looked likely just one winner in this game. Luke Graham also came on for Imari Samuels.

But Finally on 90 minutes and from Robertson's corner was headed home by Ryan Astley to gain Dundee a win and clinch 8th position in the league.

Aberdeen looked a well beaten team and it was a great end to the season.
