Dundee had to get back on track after Tuesday's defeat at Dens, the only change to the side was Declan McDaid replaced Charlie Adam who was on the bench.
Dundee started well and forced a couple of corners and Jason Cummings header was straight at the keeper, Lee Ashcroft should have scored but put his header wide.
Alloa had a few chances but nothing to trouble the Dundee defence. Dundee did take the lead when Lee Ashcroft headed home from a McGowan corner. A fine time to score and Dundee looked comfy for rest of the half.
At the start of the second half and Cummings had a good effort saved by the keeper, but Dundee doubled their lead when again Lee Ashcroft headed home again from a McGowan corner.
Dundee coming forward with some neat football and Mullen headed wide, but they put the game to bed when good play and pass from McMullen found Max Anderson took a touch before scoring with a well struck shot into the far corner of the net.
Dundee saw the game out and used their subs to give other players a run out. A good performance and it was good to see youngsters Max Anderson and Sam Fisher having fine games. The whole team played well and it was good to see.
