Dundee did push forward and soon after Griffiths pulled one back with a low shot from the edge of the box, now all Dundee pressure and it payed off with Griffiths scored after a clever flick from Harkins. Now the game was on, and really should have won the tie here. Foryth was also sent off to even up the sides. A few more misses and into the last minute we got a penalty Griffiths grabbed the ball, but his spot kick flew high and wide to give Brechin a lifeline.
In extra time and it was all Dundee apart from a few break aways from Brechin. So penalties would decide the outcome. Brechin scored their first 2 , Harkins scored Dundee first, then Paton missed, Brechin missed, then O'Donnell missed, Brechin scored to make it 3-1, Riley had to scored to keep Dundee in it, but blasted high over the bar to send the Glebe Park faithful wild with delight. That was it Dundee were out.
