Motherwell 1, Dundee 0, Fir Park, Ladbrokes Premiership,
Got my usual train through to Motherwell arriving in plenty time to have breakfast and meet up with Paul, then slightly later with George, Calum and Ben. My son Andrew made the game as well his second visit to Fir Park his first one was a 5-1 win for the Dark Blues !
Manager Jim McIntyre made three changes. Calvin Miller, Andy Boyle and Sofien Moussa all started, in the places of Roarie Deacon, Ryan Inniss and and Benjamin Källman. Motherwell were unchanged.
Both team attacked from the start and Moussa was inches away from giving Dundee the lead, at the other end Hamilton saved well from a effort from Bigirimana. Calvin Miller put in two dangerous crosses with Darren O'Dea hitting the bar with the Motherwell defence managed to clear their lines in time.
That was all the chances in the first half with Dundee having a lot of the ball, but failing to trouble the Well back four.
Second half and Motherwell came out attacking Dundee they had a penalty claim when Main went down in the box but Ref Robertson waved play on. Minutes later and O'Dea stopped a certain goal getting in the way to block and Hamilton dived on the ball just on the goal line.
Dundee lost O’Dea with a head knock after 58 minutes and Ryan Inniss replaced him. Gradually Dundee played their way back into the game after riding out the storm. Moussa had another penalty claim following great play when Calvin Miller burst into the penalty area.
As the match was starting to open up with either side looking like they could win David Turnbull settled the match with a stunning goal after 68 minutes. Picking the ball up in midfield he unleashed a ferocious rising shot into the top corner from 35 yards.
Dundee tried hard to get back into the game but they lacked the final ball into the box to cause Motherwell any real danger.
Martin Woods came on for his debut, and Paul McGowan came on after injury. They replaced Jesse Curran and Sofien Moussa.
Time ran out on the Dark Blues who might have taken a point. You can't fault the effort from the players , but they lack a lot in the final third of the pitch.
As a team we are not scoring enough goals and with St Mirren at Home next Saturday at this early stage in the season it's a must win game.

Dundee lost 5-0 to Champions Celtic at Dens Dens last Wednesday, sadly the result was in no doubt after Celtic got their first goal after 19 minutes. The second a penalty did look soft but it was 4-0 at half-time.
Second half and Celtic scored the 5th on 48 minutes, and it could have been a lot more on a bad night for the Dee. The gulf was all to see and many Dundee fans were away home at 3-0. I stayed until the 86th minute and only left to make sure I got my lift home okay.

Dundee 0, Hearts 3, Dens Park, Ladbrokes Premiership, 23-October-18
Dundee made four changes to the team that lost at Livingston. Jack Hamilton replaced Elliott Parish in goal, and Darren O’Dea, Jesse Curran and Elton Ngwatala came in for Andy Boyle, Kharl Madianga and Sofien Moussa.
Hearts scored within the first 2 minutes after they got a free kick 25 yards from goal. Australian midfielder BOZANIC curled a perfect shot over the wall and inside Jack Hamilton’s left hand post. Worse was to follow when Hearts went 2-0 up a quick break away send Michael Smith clear to fire over a low cross. Steven MacLean missed the ball at the near post, putting off Hamilton and allowing NAISMITH to slide home the second goal at the far post.
Dundee had a great chance to get back into the game when Benjamin Källman controlled a Calvin Miller cross but was pulled down by Jimmy Dunne in front of goal. Calvin Miller took the resulting penalty but fired wide.
Dundee got to half-time with the score still at 2-0 it has been too easy for Hearts, with Dundee failing to get decent balls into the box to help our strikers.
Hearts made it 3-0 after just 21 seconds of the second half when the scored from the kick off, Arnaud Djoum ambled into the penalty under negligible pressure and hit a low cross beyond the far post where Naismith screwed the ball back past Hamilton to give MACLEAN the easiest of chances in front of the empty goal.
Dundee had made one change at half time Madianga came on for Spence, but with the third goal the game was over as a contest and another home defeat for the struggling dark blues.
They are losing too many goals and New Manager Jim McIntyre has a big big job on his hands to turn this around.
Next week is Celtic at home followed by massive two games at Motherwell, and St Mirren at home. Games that we must gain points or it will be a long long season.

Livingston 4, Dundee 0, Tony Macaroni Arena, Ladbrokes Premiership, 20-October-18
Dundee lost 4-0 at Livingston last Saturday in Jim McIntyre's first game in charge. I missed the game due to work. But after watching the highlights it was a day to forget for the dark blues. The lost all four goals from set pieces. It was 2-0 at half-time.
Kenny Miller did have a half chance early on ,but put his effort wide of the goal. Livingston scored on 18 minutes when Gallagher headed home. A poor goal to lose. Then a couple minutes to the break Livingston scored again a free header from Halkett.
Dundee did try and attack in the second half but Livingston's defence cleared any danger with ease. They got the third goal on 76 minutes the ball landed in the net after another cross was missed by the keeper and the defence. The goal was scored by Lawless, the fourth and final goal was another howler for the dark blues this time Lithgow scored with ease from 6 yards.

Jim McIntyre Appointed As Dundee FC Manager...
Dundee FC have confirmed that Jim McIntyre is the New Manager and will meet the press tomorrow, he will also meet the players and take training.
I feel it's a bit quick to make appointment but will back the new Manager as I always do. I really hope he does well and we are able to move on from the dreadful start to the season.
Jim McIntyre has signed a rolling one year deal with the club. Jim has been Manager with Dunfermline Ath , Queen of the South, and Ross County where he lead the Staggies to League Cup glory in Season 2015-16.

Neil McCann Leaves Dundee FC
It has been confirmed that Manager Neil McCann has left the club after several meetings at Dens this week. Assistant Manager Graham Gartland has also left the club.
After a run of poor results the board has made the decision to try and get an experience Manager in place in time for Saturday's game at Livingston.
I feel for Neil McCann he was brave enough to try and play football , it's just a pity a run of really poor home form has cost him his job. Football is sadly a results business.
I wish Neil and Graham all the best for the future in what ever they do next.
Other News Glen Kamara scored the second goal in Finland's 2-0 win over Greece, it was his first International goal.

Dundee 1, Kilmarnock 2, Dens Park, Ladbrokes Premiership, 06-October-18
Dundee started the game well attacking Kilmarnock with some slick football, it was good to see the crowd behind the team. Dundee opened the scoring on 10 minutes when good play got Adil Nabi into the box the ball fell nicely and he curled a beauty into the corner of the net. It was all Dundee now and they had settled well.
Kilmarnock did had have a few chances but missed them. But after 16 minutes the game was level when Jordan Jones's cross hit Andy Boyle and spun high to land into the net for a fluke of a goal. Dundee kept at it and got to half time with the score at 1-1. Kilmarnock did take heart from their goal and slightly edged the half as the better side.
Second half and both teams attacked each other. Elliot Parish made a great save and soon after Kilmarnock was awarded a penalty after Jones went down in the box, it looked like a blatant dive but the Ref pointed to the spot. Brophy scored with ease to give Killie the lead.
Soon after Kilmarnock got another penalty when Burke went down after a challenge from Miller, it looked very soft. Up stepped Ex-Dee Greg Stewart but his shot was brilliantly saved by Elliot Parish.
Dundee pushed to the end but Killie held out to claim the three points. Dundee can feel hard done by today a few positives good performances from the players. Next up is a trip to Livingston who have started well.

Hamilton Photos
Had a great day on Saturday with my son Andrew, no beers for me as it was spending quality time.

Only team change was that Lewis Spence replaced injured Paul McGowan, Dundee started the game well and were keeping the ball well. Dundee were hitting on the break and the Accies keeper had to make a couple of saves. Imrie had a chance for the home team but his effort was well over the bar. Dundee took the lead on 37 minutes a good deep cross from Miller and Andy Boyle headed home from 6 yards out to the delight of the DFC fans. It finished that way at half-time.
Second half and early on Dundee should have made it 2-0 when a Ryan Innis shot was blocked on the line, it was a great chance. Soon after and Nabi was through but put his shot just over the bar again it should have been 2-0. Hamilton were unlucky with a sweeping move but Brustad somehow missed. Hamilton hit the bar twice but really that was all that Dundee faced in the final minutes.
Deep in injury time Dundee sealed the points when good wing play from Deacon he played in Kamara who passed to Kharl Madianga who scored with a powerful drive to send the Dundee fans wild with delight.
A great team performance today and it was great to get our first win. The real work starts again next Saturday when high flying Kilmarnock visit Dens Park.

Tough Times......
Tough time for DFC fans just now, the media system does not help the club as Manager ect get loads of abuse. Some which I find very sad to see and read. This week I left two groups as I would rather not read them anymore. I will trust the board to do the right thing in the long run, and back my team by supporting them through good and bad.
I'm sure Managers in the past would have got the same abuse on social media if Facebook ect was on the go 20 years ago. The local papers don't help either if the club or players do well they keep at until a player leaves on transfer ect, like wise if the team are struggling the Manager will get it in the press.
Sadly times have changed in Football and not for the better in my view, I just hope that Dundee FC can put a big smile on my face at 17:00 this Saturday

Dundee lost 3-0 to Hibernian at Dens Park last Saturday, in the first half they held their own and started the game well. Adil Nabi was unlucky twice with efforts with the first on was well saved by the Hibs keeper. Hibs did have chances as well and Parish made a couple of saves. Dundee had a penalty appeal turned away when Madiange went down in the box, it looked like one at the time , but after seeing it later on TV is was not and Referee called it right.
Second half and Hibs hit the bar in the first minute, it was a warning and Hibs scored twice in 10 minute spell which sadly ended the game for the Dark Blues. Hibs added the third with five minutes to go. Dundee struggled to get back into the game after Hibs scored the first goal, they need to fight more and keep the heads up as we need to get a result next week at Hamilton.
It was good to see Glen Kamara back in the team, I thought Mendy had a good enough game when he came on, l try and take positives from the games and we must fight as a club to get our season going.
