The home side started well and had two attacks in the opening minutes. Dundee were able to clear with ease. They then had their first attack, after good play put in for Mulligan to cross, but no takers this time. Saints forced a corner soon after with Robertson being able to clear.
Then Lyall Cameron had a shot which just went past the right hand post. As Dundee were coming back into the game.
Dundee then had a penalty shout in the 23rd minute when Scott Tiffoney made a darting run into the box and after he released the ball, there were shouts that the winger had been fouled but nothing came of it.
But they took the lead on 26 minutes when Tiffoney found Lyall Cameron who cut inside and smashed the ball across the keeper and into the cornet of the net. A fine goal to sent the Dundee fans wild.
Minutes later Simon Murray got the ball just inside the Saints half and he tried to lob the keeper, but the ball just fell wide of the goal.
The game up to half-time was pretty even but at least Dundee were 1-0 up at the break.
Dundee attacked from the start and Scott Tiffoney was involved both time, first he was on a run and was fouled. Then soon after he ran clear to score, but he was offside after a Var check.
Dundee forced two corners which came to nothing, the Josh Mulligan had a shot saved by the Saints keeper.
Seb Palmer-Houlden then received some treatment in the middle of the pitch and a few minutes later he was replaced by Finn Robertson.
Both teams had chances the best for Dundee fell to Murray who blasted the ball over the bar. With 5 minutes to go Trevor Carson made a good save getting down well.

Big cheer when the final score in the Highlands was 1-1. Dundee finished the game on a high when after 96 minutes they got a penalty after Larkeche was fouled in the box.
Up stepped Lyall Cameron to score with ease to seal the game 2-0 final score.
Massive result and means Dundee will play in the Premiership next season.

Before the start of this match, both teams partook in a minute’s applause for former Dundee fitness coach Harry Hay who sadly passed away last week.
County started the game better than Dundee in the opening 15 minutes, their first chance came but Palmer-Houlden’s header landed on the top of the net.
County then nearly scored but Trevor Carson tipped the ball on the bar. Adewumi then played a great ball across field to Palmer-Houlden who collected and ran towards goal getting a shot on target, but the County goalkeeper made a fantastic save to palm it out for a corner with minutes of the first half left.
Both teams made changes with Dundee putting on Scott Tiffoney to replace Seun Adewumi who had taken a knock.
But it paid off on 57 minutes when a fine pass from Lyall Cameron to Scott Tiffoney and he beat his marker to slot the the ball home for a fine goal. It was what Dundee needed and they looked much better than the first half.
Dundee had two chances Palmer-Houlden's shot was well saved, and a Shaughnessy header was straight to the keeper. This was Joe's last bit of action as he needed treament for a head clash, Billy Koumetio would replace him with just over 25 minutes to play.
It was quite even now with both teams having chances but the County keeper kept the ball out with a Simon Murray shot which lacked power.
Lyall Cameron was given a standing ovation for his last match as a Dundee player at Dens Park with Cesar Garza coming on to add a bit of freshness to the middle of the park.
The fourth official then showed that there will be 6 minutes of injury time to play for. Dundee were able to defende anything County threw at them.
That was until the 94th minute when the man in the middle Nick Walsh, pointed to the spot to award County a penalty and a lifeline.
Confusion ensued amongst the Dundee support, players and management and after a few moments, the spot kick was given with Hale blasting the ball into the back of the net as the clock ticked over to the 96th minute.
As the game ended soon after it will come down to the last game of the season when Dundee play St Johnstone away on Sunday.

Kilmarnock started well and Trevor Carson had to make make two good saves in the first few minutes. Then they should have scored 5 minutes later when a quick break left the Dundee defence missing and somehow Anderson missed and put his effort wide of the goal.
After that Dundee came into the game and were playing some neat build up moves but failed to create any clear cut chances. The closest was a snap shot from Simon Murray.
Kilmarnock were scrappy and saw moves break down repeatedly with mistakes and overhit passes. They were always a threat from set pieces, however, and a free kick from 40 yards led to the opening goal from a penalty after 31 minutes. Referee Don Robertson ruled that Seb Palmer-Houlden blocked Liam Donnelly illegally beyond the far post and Armstrong thumped the spot kick high into the net.
The game pattern did not change up to half time with Dundee having plenty of the ball.
Kilmarnock started the second half well and create a few chances which Dundee defended well and came back into the game after the first 20 minutes.
Seun Adewumi came on for Scott Tiffoney and was quickly in the action. He had a half chance but hit a weak shot straight at the keeper.
After this the farce that Var is reared it's head, When Simon Murray appealed for a penalty when he was challenged by Kyle Vassell as they went for a free kick. The referee decided it wasn’t a foul but was told to review the incident. However, when he went to the screen there was no image and he had no alternative but to stick with his initial decision.
Seb Palmer-Houlden went off injured after 73 minutes and was replaced by Fin Robertson. The change made Dundee more competitive in midfield and it paid off quickly when the Dark Blues equalised two minnutes later.
Robertson pounced on a mistake in the Killie midfield and sent Adewumi into the penalty area. The young Austrian was tackled and the ball broke to Lyall Cameron whose shot was partially blocked before crossing over the line.
Game on but sadly a minute later Kilmarnock scored when Anderson headed home it looked poor marking in the box.
Dundee kept at it but on 91 minutes it was 3-1 when Deas scored with a header. Before this Carson made two great saves,
At least Dundee kept at it and Lyall Cameron got his secong goal with a fine finish. In the last 3 minutes of injury time Kilmarnock defended well to win the game,

Dundee started well and forced Motherwell's keeper Aston Oxborough a shot from Seun Adewumi, and then parried Ziyad Larkeche’s follow up.
Soon after he saved well from a Joe Shaughnessy header from a corner. Motherwell had a header which was just over the bar, and Slattery missed the target when in a good position.
The Dark Blues took a deserved lead after 31 minutes from a long throw by Ryan Astley on the right. The ball broke to Antonio Portales who smashed home a superb finish into the top corner from 16 yards.
As the clocked ticked over into stoppage time Portales repeated the trick, firing into the same corner following another throw by Astley. With the ball already on the centre spot a VAR review decided that the goal should be disallowed for offside. Clark Robertson had moved back from an offside position to challenge as the ball broke to Portales.
Second half and it was Motherwell who seemed to get a lift after making changes, But Dundee had a chance after a cross from Murray and Cameron just failed to fully connect to trouble the keeper.
But a minute later Motherwell scored to level the game when after a clever ball forward it fell to Sparrow who neatly finished the move.
Dundee failed to get back into the game and the only real chance was when good play set Josh Mulligan who blasted the ball over the bar.
Both teams struggled to take control as the game became scrappy. After 79 minutes John Koutroumbis put in a fierce challenge on Ziyad Larkeche. The referee played advantage initially but showed the yellow card before changing it to a red card after a VAR review.
At least Var got that one right. Simon Murray had a free kick blocked and Motherwell broke and Carson had to save to keep the score level. Soon after Motherwell hit the bar, and the effort after was put over the bar.
Charlie Reilly came on for Ryan Astley as Dundee chased a winner, but they were caught again on the break in the first minute of added time. Dominic Thompson ran down the right and crossed to the far post where Maswanhise rose to score with a superb header.
It looked poor defending from Dundee and it's been like that a few times this season at home.
Dundee had one last chane but Lyall Cameron was unlucky to see his shot just go past the post.
The defeat will make the last three game massive now. They must pick themselves up for the game at Rugby Park this Saturday.

Dundee made three changes to the team when Ryan Astley came into the defence at right back, Antonio Portales into central midfield, and Seb Palmer-Houlden into the attack. They replaced the injured Jordan McGhee and Seun Adewumi, and Mo Sylla, who was on the bench.
The first 15 minutes went quickly with both teams having the ball but no clear chances were made. Dundee's first chance came when Astley won the ball in midfield and came forward one a good run but his shot was deflected over the bar after being blocked.
Carson then was forced into a good save as Hearts had a good move. Dundee then broke and a superb run and from Josh Mulligan was headed wide by Seb Palmer-Holden.
A minute later the Dee had a massive escape when Devlin’s shot took a deflection and struck the post. Grant was first to the rebound but Carson managed to smother the shot on the goal line.
Dundee took the lead in their next attack. Scott Tiffoney crossed from the left and Palmer-Houlden made a nuisance of himself to stop the defence clearing the high ball. Simon Murray took full advantage to score with a low shot from 10 yards.
Hearts made two changes at half-time but it made little difference as Dundee continuted to work hard and defende well to control the game, Carson had a couple of routine saves as Hearts were struggling to get on the score sheet.
Fin Robertson came on for Seb Palmer-Houlden just after the hour, playing on the right but in a deeper position.
After 79 minute Ziyad Larkeche, after a fine display, limped off and was replaced by Imari Samuels. At the end of normal time Scott Fraser and Ethan Ingram came on for Ryan Astley and Antonio Portales who looked like they were suffering from cramp.
Trevor Carson made a vital block when a certain goal looked on as Hearts pushed forward.
The last tens minutes went slowly and in the 6 minutes of injury time Dundee got away with the right Var decisions when a penalty claim was ruled as a no. And they had the ball into the net but Craig Gordon had fouled Trevor Carson.
But the whistle went to the delight of the Dundee fans who will enjoy this victory. The fully deserved the three points after a great performance.

At last the Dark Blues did launch an attack and won a free kick 40 yards out. The Hibs defence expected a high ball and a low pass gave Simon Murray a shooting opportunity from a tight angle but Jordan Smith saved.
Dundee struggled in the first half and Hibs had a great chance but lucky for the dee they hit the post.
But just before half-time Hibs took the lead when Bushiri volley the ball in from close range. At least it was only 1-0 at half-time.
Second half and Dundee made one change when Imari Samuels came on for Larkeche at left back.
Dundee did start well and had a good 10-15 minute spell, but after that Hibs took control of the game and scored three goals in a 15 minute spell to totally put the game to bed.
Many Dundee fans were away after that and I stayed to the end to see out the game.
The last five games now will be massive and not great with Hearts being in the bottom six and likely a trip to Tynecastle to face them.

St Mirren had the first shot at goal when Carson saved with his knees to deny O'Hara. Dundee raced straight up the park and Ziyad Larkeche’s cross from the left flew through the penalty area. Jordan McGhee sent a cross back into the goalmouth. Seun Adewumi stopped the defence clearing and kept the ball alive allowing Simon Murray to sweep the ball home from 12 yards.
St Mirren had a go after this but the fianal ball was not good enough to trouble the Dundee defence. For the rest of the half both teams attacked and the Dundee midfield did well to stop moves and get vital blocks in to deny a lively St Mirren side.
After half time St Mirren made two changes, and that made them more dangerous. Scott Tiffoney just missed a great cross from Josh Mulligan to score.
Trevor Carson had to make two good saves soon after as St Mirren were on the attack, but the game changed Dundee's way on 62 minutes. Under no pressure Hemming's miskicked the ball which hit the back of Murray.
After it came down Simon Murray passed the ball home from 40 yards out to make it 2-0.
After this Dundee made a change when Billy Koumetio replaced Clark Robertson for the last 22 minutes. Clark had a good game and along side Joe Shaughnessy they were immense.
It was great also to keep a clean sheet first time for about a year at home in the league. Not the best performance today but the result was massive.
