Motherwell 0, Dundee 1, Fir Park, SPFL Premiership, 21st February 2015

Dundee produced a fine professional performance on Saturday beating struggling Motherwell 1-0 at Fir Park, as expected Kevin Thomson came back into the side along side Willie Dyer and Greg Stewart. It was a positive Dundee that started the game knocking the ball quickly and working hard in all area's.

Dundee got the early goal on 12 minutes after some neat play from McGinn and Harris put Paul McGinn out wide and his cross/shot sailed over the Motherwell keeper George Long and into the net to give the visitors a vital lead. Dundee kept pushing forward and Long had to make saves from Stewart and Harris, also McGowan was unlucky with a well hit shot which just missed the goal.

Motherwell did have some shots as well but they were either wide or well blocked from the Dundee defence which looked very solid.

Second half was much the same vein with Dundee looking dangerous on the break, a Harris run and cross just needed a touch as the ball went across the six yard box. The home side lacked the fight they have been known to have over the years and look like a side that may go down.

As the clock ran down Hartley replaced McGowan and Stewart with Harkins and Clarkson who the well fans gave warm applause when he came on.

So another three points for Dundee who looked solid and they could have scored a few more goals.

George, Calum, Myself and Paul
It was also good to catch up with Motherwell fans George, Paul and Calum who I have known for a long time since meeting in Dundee in 1981 onwards. They are pretty convinced that their team are going down. I hope that is not the case but time will tell.
