Dundee 2, Kilmarnock 1, Dens Park, William Hill Premiership, 30-December-25

Dundee made one change to the team when Charlie Reilly replaced the injured Cameron Congreve.

Dundee started on the attack and could have scored in the first couple of minutes when a good cross from Reilly fell nicely to Callum Jones who cut inside his net bound shot was blocked.

Kilmarnock has a good chance but Anderson blasted the ball over the bar, when he maybe  should have scored.

A chance fell to Reilly from a long throw in from Astley, but he put the ball wide and high.

Tony Yogane sent over a cross that triggered a penalty box scramble that ended with Ethan Hamilton’s shot being deflected past the post.

But as happens sometimes Killie scored against the run of play, a long ball forward was missed by Graham and Kiltie raced in to score with a good finish.

A bit of a blow for Dundee but they kept attackig to half-time.

Second half and again Dundee attacked with some good attacking football. The defence had to be alert as Kilmarnock had a few breakaways. One move and McCracken made a good save knocking the ball over the bar.

But on 57 minutes Dundee scored with a well work goal. Jones held the ball up on the left wing allowing Yogane to flight a cross beyond the far post. Reilly sent a perfect header back across goal for Ash Hay to head in the equaliser from close range.

Dundee were now in control and Astley was unlucky when his shot just went wide of the post. After good play from Hay.

But on 72 minutes Dundee took the lead. Yogane made a fine pass infield from the halfway line to find Dhanda in space. The playmaker sent a quick pass through the Killie defence for Hay whose shot was blocked. Charlie Reilly  followed up, took a touch, and curled a lovely finish inside the far post from 12 yards.

Kilmarnock made changes to attacvk Dundee when 3 players came on. Dundee sent on Emile Acquah for Charlie Reilly, with Ash Hay moving to the right wing.

A few minutes later and Acquah had a header saved it was weak and straight at the keeper.

It was good to see all the team dig in to deny Kilmarnock any clear chances with good tackles and blocks needed.

Dundee ran out the clock and deserved the three points. It was great to see Hay and Reilly get their first league goals of the season.
