Annan Athletic 0, Dundee 5, Galabank, League Cup, 14th July 2026

Dundee made three changes to the team that started Saturday’s win over Brechin. Kieran O’Hara came in for Harry Sharp in goal, Aaron Donnelly replaced Owen Bevan in central defence and Simon Murray started in the place of Ashley Hay in attack.

The first half was all about Dundee attacking and Annan defending well. Early on Jones headed over the bar. Annan had one chance but the was blocked and fell nice to O'Hara in the Dundee goal.

Aaron Donnelly got on the end of a corner from Charlie Reilly but headed high and wide. Donnelly then set up the best chance of the half when he stepped forward to whip in a fine, fast early cross, but Simon Murray headed wide from eight yards.

That was the first half with mainly all Dundee but they failed to score frome their chances.

Shortly after the restart Joe Bevan opened up the defence with a skillful run and Ryan Finnigan cracked a rising drive against the crossbar from 18 yards.

The pressure on Annan’s defence was relentless and it was no surprise when Dundee took the lead in the 55th minute, though the manner of the goal was startling. Bevan found Reilly wide on the right near the byline. Instead of crossing Charlie Reilly smashed a ferocious shot home from an angle that seemed impossible.

A few minutes it was 2-0 again Charlie Reilly smashed the ball home after Bevan found him with a good pass.

Six minutes later a quick break away and Reilly found Joe Bevan who raced clear rounded the goalkeeper to score a superb goal.

On 74 minutes Jone found Simon Murray wide and his cross ended into the net for 4-0. I'm sure Simon said it a shot at goal !

Ten minutes later and it was 5-0 when Murray found Ash Hay who chipped the goalkeeper to end the scoring,

Annan did nearly score later on but the final score was 5-0 Dundee.
