Hearts 2, Dundee 1, Tynecastle, William Hill premiership, 06-September-2026

Dundee made three changes when Drey Wright, Imari Samuels and Bradley Fink replaced Bradley Halliday, Odutayo and Bobby Wales. Dundee started the game brightly and were hitting Hearts on the break. 

They lost Joe Westley after 6 minutes who was injured in a head clash. Bobby Wales came on, and soon after Dundee took the lead. A great long ball from Imari Samuels caught out the Hearts defence and Bradley Fink raced clear to score with a superb finish.

Hearts kept pushing, having several chances that were well-marshalled by the centre-back partnership of Ryan Astley and Owen Bevan. A dangerous cross by former Dee Josh McPake was clinically intercepted by Astley, denying Portuguese striker Cláudio Braga what would have been a likely tap-in past Owen Goodman.

Dundee were lucky to end the half with eleven men on the pitch after summer signing Ryan Finnigan’s two-footed challenge was kept to a yellow card. It was to be Finnigan’s final moment of the game, being substituted at half-time following an ankle problem.

Jack Moorhouse came on for his debut and looked good, he was unlucky with a run and shot which just missed the target. Hearts had a lot of chances but found Owen Goodman in fine form. 

Another injury for the Dens Park side when Finlay Robertson went down, it looked a soar one. Zan Bešir came on for Finlay. 

With minutes to go in normal time a sliding tackle from Owen Bevan and the ball hit his hand to deny a cross. Penalty to Hearts. They scored to make it 1-1. 

In injury time Žan Bešir was sent sent off for a silly tackle which he was shown a yellow card. After a Var check it was a Red card for the midfielder.

On 97 minutes Hearts scored the winner with a shot from outside the box. It was tough on Dundee today as the defence has done well.

Dundee 1, St Johnstone 1, Dens Park, William Hill Premiership, 2nd September 2026

Dundee made three changes from the team that lost to Hibs on Sunday. Bobby Wales came in for his first start in the place of Bradley Fink. Brad Halliday and Alan Forrest replaced Drey Wright and Charlie Reilly.

Dundee started slowly and St Johnstone looked much better in midfield and getting to second balls. Owen Goodman had to make a couple of saves to deny the Perth saints. as the first half wore on. 

Alan Forrest ran on to Ethan Hamilton’s pass but his shot was blocked by Zach Mitchell, an excellent piece of penalty box defending. Joe Westley beat keeper Toby Steward to a cross from Joe Bevan only for his header to drift wide.

St Johnstone had the ball in the net, but the referee spotted a push so free kick to Dundee. They struggled to get to half-time with game at 0-0.

The second half brought little improvement at first. St Johnstone had most of the ball but Dundee’s defence contined to hold firm and Goodman had little to trouble him.

The Dark Blues should have taken the lead against the run of play on the hour. Alan Forrest chipped a pass over the top to send Joe Westley racing clear. Perhaps he had too much time to think and sent a poor shot wide.

Bradley Fink and Fin Robertson came off the bench to replace Bobby Wales and Alan Forrest. Brad Halliday was then substituted by Drey Wright. Dundee started to play with more urgency, getting into good positions and giving the Saints defence real problems.

Charlie Reilly came on for Joe Bevan and he passed up a good chance when the ball broke to him 15 yards out but he smashed a fierce shot over the bar.

The games was better in the last 10 minutes and Dundee scored on 87 minutes when Fin Robertson chased a long pass to the byline and played the ball back for Ryan Finnigan to cross. Westley sent a looping header over the keeper against the crossbar and Charlie Reilly headed the rebound home.

But as it happens sometimes Dundee failed to clear their line and it let Fowler  in to score to make the final score 1-1. Dundee were lucky to get a draw tonight so they must do better in the next few games.

Dundee Sign Jack Moorhouse On Loan

Dundee have signed Jack Moorhouse on loan from Manchester United for the 2026/27 season. 

20-year-old Moorhouse had a number of other offers across the window and has chosen to become the Dark Blues’ eleventh signing of the summer.

Moorhouse can play as a wide attacker or attacking midfielder. Having been at Manchester United since he was eight, he was promoted to the first team squad in January 2025.

In August 2025, he moved to Leyton Orient on loan in League One and made 24 appearances before returning to Manchester United on deadline day in February 2026.

Moorhouse has represented Republic of Ireland U21, making his debut for the side in a defeat to Scotland U21 in March 2025.

Dundee Sign Joe Wright

Dundee have signed defender Joe Wright on a two-year deal from Bradford City for an undisclosed fee.

31-year-old Wright has previous William Hill Premiership experience, spending three seasons at Kilmarnock. Wright came through Huddersfield Town’s academy, signing a professional contract in 2013.

A loan at Accrington Stanley followed, and in 2016 he joined Doncaster Rovers, going on to make 129 appearances for the club.

Ahead of the 2022/23 season, Wright moved to Kilmarnock, and stayed there until 2025 when he joined Bradford. 

A good signing and will add to the squad which is much needed.

Dundee 1, Hibernian 2, Dens Park, William Hill Premiership, 30th August 2026

Dundee made one change to the Dee team that won last week’s derby was Bradley Fink coming in for his first start with Alan Forrest moving onto the bench. Matai Akinmboni, this week’s loan signing from Bournemouth, was named as a substitute.

Both teams started okay in a even manner. But after 20 minutes Hibs were taking control and missed a couple of good chances. 

Hibernian did open the scoring after 25 minutes when slackness in the Dundee defence and Boyle scored with ease after making a good run from deep. 

Dundee struggled to respond. Bradley Fink and Joe Westley were isolated and saw little of the ball as Hibs dominated possession.

The Dark Blues were lucky not to concede a second goal when Callum Wright responded quickly to a breakdown in midfield to send Boyle clear. This time the Hibs striker, with time to pick his spot, clipped his shot outside the post.

Dundee had a wee chance just before half-time good play from Hamilton and Joe Bevan set up Fink  to run at the defence and shoot but he curled his effort narrowly wide.

Dundee started the second half better and missed a good chance when the ball was would not fall to the strikers. Goodman then made a good save from McGrath.

Hibs extended their lead after 60 minutes when Boyle’s cross from the right was deflected into the path of Callum Wright, who shot into the corner of the net from 12 yards.

Alan Forrest and Fin Robertson came on for Charlie Reilly and Bradley Fink. but Hibs took fully control and the game looked finished. 

With quarter of an hour to go Dundee sent on Zan Besir and Bobby Wales for Ryan Finnigan and Joe Bevan. The change gave the Dark Blues fresh impetus and at last they were able to put Hibs under pressure.

Finally the Dark Blues managed to pull a goal back after 83 minutes. Hamilton was fouled as he shaped to shoot. From the resulting free kick, 30 yards out, Hamilton hit a fierce curling shot over the wall and against the crossbar. Joe Westley reacted quickly to force the dropping ball over the line.

Dundee pushed forward in the last minutes of the game, but the Referee blew for full-time bang on 2 mins 13 secs. Hibs deserved the win today.
