The Dundee Derby ended 2-2 in a thrilling game of football on Sunday, a big crowd was inside Tannadice for a game which both clubs needed a win. Dundee to keep their bid to finish in the top six, and United to try and climb off bottom place.

Both teams started slowly and it took a while for the first chances to fall, a shot from McGowan which did not trouble the United keeper. Dundee forced a few corners but they came to nothing, but took in the lead after 34 minutes when a long ball into the box fell nicely to Kane Hemmings and the Dundee striker kept his cool to score to send the Dundee fans wild with delight.

Dundee lost their second defender when Konrad had to leave the field with a head knock, he had earlier came on for Kosta Gadzhalov who injured a shoulder.

Dundee did make it 2-0 when a pass from McGowan send Stewart clear out wide and his cross was swept home by Hemmings to score his second goal of the game right on half time.

United came back into the came when a long ball caught out the Dundee rear guard and Scott Bain dived at the feet of McKay, the Referee send Bain off and McKay scored from the spot. After this Dundee changed to a 5-4-1 system, with striker Hemming upfront alone. Dave Mitchell came on and Nicky Low was the man to go off. United pushed forward and it took some good defending and Keeper Mitchell done well with a couple of great saves and took his crosses cleanly, but in the 92nd minute United scored to grab a point.

It was tough on the Dundee players who gave it all they had with McGowan and Kerr were outstanding. Good support from the Dundee fans today as well.

Dundee: Bain, McGinn, Gadzhalov (Konrad 15 (Low 39 (Mitchell 51))), O'Dea, Kerr, McGowan, Harkins (c), Ross, Holt, Stewart, Hemmings. Unused Subs: Meggatt, Loy, Arturo, Wighton.

Dundee 0, Hearts 1, Dens Park, Ladbrokes Premiership, 12-March-16

Dundee lost 1-0 to Hearts in a game where Dundee could have drawn or even won. Hearts were the better side in the first half and had a few good chances which forced Scoot Bain into some good saves. Dundee did have a couple chances and Kerr and Stewart were unlucky not to score for the home side.

Hearts scored early in the second when a good pass put Walker in the clear and he rounded Bain to score via the post. But before that McGowan forced a good save from the Hearts keeper and Kerr put a effort over the bar when maybe he should have hit the target. Both teams had chances but Hearts held on to take all three points.

Dundee: Bain, Gadzhalov (Wighton 72), McGinn, O'Dea, Kerr, McGowan, Harkins (c) (Loy 79), Ross, Holt, Stewart, Hemmings. Unused Subs: Mitchell, Konrad, Meggatt, Low, Arturo.

Dundee earned a well deserved 0-0 draw at Celtic Park on Wednesday night, a game they could have won with minutes to go Kosta Gadzhalov some how missed a header from 6 yards out when it looked easier to score. It was good to see youngster Craig Wighton and Cammy Kerr both having good games.

Dundee earned a well earned point from a tough accouter with Inverness Caley Thistle, the jags took a early lead when Ross Draper scored after 13 minutes, going by reports Dundee played well and in the second half really pushed ICT back and it was no surprize when Kane Hemmings headed home with just 4 minutes from time.

Dundee eased their way into the Scottish Cup quarter finals with an fine 5-0 win over Dumbarton. Goals from Paul McGinn and Kane Hemmings sent the Dee on their way in the first half. Two more goals by Greg Stewart and one by Kevin Holt completed the scoring in a match that the Dark Blues dominated from start to finish.

I missed the match due to work so can only go by reports which did suggest that Dundee were never in trouble in this replay, so a trip to Ibrox now for the 1/4 final tie.
