Dundee 4 Cowdenbeath 0, Dens Park, SPFL Championship, 12-April-14
Dundee moved two points clear of Hamilton as the dark blues beat Cowdenbeath at Dens by four goals to nil. This is the best l have seen Dundee play at home all season.
Team wise Cammy Kerr came in for the suspended Gary Irvine and young striker Craig Wighton started upfront. The home side took the lead after only 4 minutes gone with a delightful move started with a cool pass which gave Craig Wighton a opening and the young striker took it coolly to slot home from 15 yards. A great start and it set the tone for the rest of the game, Dundee kept up the pressure and made it 2-0 just before half-time when Wighton played a great pass to sent Martin Boyle clear and the striker smashed the ball home to the delight of the home fans.
Second half and Dundee continued to play The Blue Brazil happy to try and keep the score down, so no big surprise when Jim McAlister scored the third goal after good wing play and cross from Nicky Riley. The fourth and final goal came soon after Wighton again played in Martin Boyle who fired in a unstoppable shot which had the Dens Park Fans shouting for more.
Dundee used their subs to give run outs to Nade, Conroy and Beattie. A good win and news that Hamilton had dropped points it happy Dundee fans heading home.
