Cupar Eagles Lose at St.Andrews.

Cupar Eagles entertained Drunken Masters as the new season got underway. Spirits in the Eagles camp were high after finishing the previous season with a best ever fifth position albeit from a league of six.
Masters were first to threaten and McGregor had to be alert to push a shot over for a corner. From the resultant corner Masters went ahead and it was soon two a few minutes later. Halley looked lively in midfield and blitzed his way through the Masters defence before drilling the ball into the left hand corner. Masters though came back strongly and another three goals were conceded before the break.
Marshall and McLuckie came on as the Eagles regrouped for the second half. Marshall made his presence felt in defence with some timely tackles where the back line started to look more solid. Masters though always looked threatening and they soon grabbed a few more goals before Pryde restored some Eagles pride with a composed finish after fine work from McLuckie and Beuchope. The scoreline was complete as Masters scored again to make it 13-2 as a dispirited Eagles team left the field.
