Cupar Eagles 3 Kembank 4, 19/February/07

Cupar Eagles lined up against Kemback with a full strength team. Conditions were slippery with the driving rain and the ball was whizzing about the surface like a puck on an ice rink. Eagles seemed to adapt to tricky conditions better and took the lead when Mullen played a delicate chip over the Kemback defence for Halley to race onto where he made no mistake with a clinical finish. Kemback were stunned but retaliated to equalise midway through the half before moving ahead on the stoke of half time after an Eagles defensive error.
Harsh words were spoken from the management team in order to eradicate the defensive deficiencies. Pryde was playing well in the middle of the park and sent McLuckie away where his shot was well struck but the Kemback keeper was equal to the task. Kemback seemed to put the game beyond doubt when they scored twice to make 4-1. The Eagles of old would have folded but inspired by Manager Marshall, Eagles came back and Halley fired into the net after great interchanging play from Mullen, Beuchope and McLuckie. Pryde sent Halley clear once again and the Eagles prolific striker scored with ease to set up a grandstand finish. Unfortunately time was to be the Eagles downfall as the final whistle blew.
