Dundee striker Kane Hemmings has joined Oxford United on a three year deal, a clause in his deal was met by the English club rumoured to be £250,000. Kane done well at Dens last season and it would have been very hard to keep him. At least he won't play against the Dark Blues this season.
A few Dundee fans are not happy with deal ect, myself the fee could have been higher but with the clause it was hard to see someone going above it.
Players come and go from Dens Park it's part and parcel of supporting DFC maybe one day we will get top dollar when we sell someone.
All the best to Kane at his new club hope he does well.

Peterhead 2, Dundee 1, Balmoor Stadium, Betfred League Cup, 26-July-16

Thanks To Dougie Todd for the Photo |
With two mins to go McAllister broke into the box he went over Bain and the Dundee goalie was booked and McAllister scored from the spot. Dundee striker Greg Steawrt pulled one back with a clever finish to give the dark blues hope. But Peterhead held out to take all three points.

Dundee 6, Dumbarton 2, Dens Park, Betfred League Cup, 23-July-16
In a must win game for the Dark Blues they struggled badly in the first 45 minutes with a lot of passing but not forward enough for my liking. They did have efforts on goal but too easy for the Sons goalie to save. Dundee did score first when Greg Stewart curled in a beauty from the edge of the box after Cammy Kerr was tripped.
But more sloppy play followed and they let Dumbarton back level with a very poor goal to lose. The ball was bouncing in the six yard box and somehow crossed the line for Wright to claim the goal, worse was to follow and another mix up in the Dundee defence and Buchanan scored after a effort was knocking onto the ball off the line by Kerr. That was it at half-time with the Dark Blues booed off.
Second half and Dundee started brightly and inside two minutes were level when Kane Hemming was played in by Loy's pass and he smashed the ball home. All of a sudden and Dundee looked good going forward and even more so when O'Hara came on for Vincent. It was no surprise when Darren O'Dea scored the third with a great header. Soon after it was 4-2 when Greg Stewart got his second with a cool finish inside the box. Soon after it was 5-2 again Stewart netting with easy after good play from Holt. Yordi Teijsse replaced Rory Loy and set up goal number six with a delightful flick that released Kane Hemmings and he made no mistake.
Dundee seen out the rest of the game with Dumbarton players looked shell shocked at the end. No wonder because most Dundee fans never seen that final score line at half-time.

East Fife 1, Dundee 1, ( EF Won 4-2 on Penalties) New Bayview, Betfred League Cup, 16-July-16
Dundee started their with a 1-1 draw with East Fife, Kane Hemming scored with a good volley after 36 minutes to put Dundee in control. Second half and East Fife came more into it and levelled with 13 minutes to go when Kevin Smith curled home a free kick.
Extra time failed to split the sides and East Fife won on Penalty kicks 4-2, Loy and Vincent missing for the Dark Blues. A poor start for Dundee and likely due to a poor second half performance. I missed the game due to work and will be at Dens next week for the Dumbarton game.

Dens Park Round Up
Kane Hemmings fine season was rewarded when he picked up the Andrew De Vries trophy at the annual DSA Player of the Year awards on Sunday evening.
The award voted for by the Clubs supporters is the official Club Player of the Year award and was given to Kane after an incredible season infront of goal for the Dundee striker.
Kostadin Gadzhalov has signed a new one year deal with the club. Kosta featured 15 times for the club during the 2015/16 season scoring his first goal for Dundee in the derby in May. I'm happy with this news as it means our squad is getting stronger.
Dundee have signed Dutch striker Yordi Teijsse, Yordi signs after a prolific season in the Hoofdklasse division in his homeland that saw him hit the net 31 times for Quick Boys as they won the title. The young striker has signed a two year deal.
Dundee have signed Mark O'Hara who played for Kilmarnock for the last 4 years, the 20 year old defender is highly rated and has been capped for Scotland at U19 and U21 level.
Dundee will play Alloa and Dumbarton in Pre-Season games away from home, and for Pre-Season training camp will be in Austria this year.

Last Three Games
Dundee lost 1-0 to Hamilton at Dens, a poor performance again at home cost the dark blues, Nick Ross should have scored in a rare chance for the home side.
Next Game and Dundee drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock I made the game, but it was end of the season fare, Rory Loy scored with a fine header and Dundee did play some decent stuff in the first half.
Second half was a different story and Kilmarnock deserved their draw in the end, a sloppy goal for Dundee to lose.
Last game was up in Inverness and again Dundee failed to win in the Highland going down 4-0, I travelled up but was very disappointed with the result. Our season was over a few weeks ago when we beat United at Dens.
Here's to next season which hopefully see Dundee with a stronger defence and midfield.

Dundee 2, Dundee United 1, Ladbrokes Premiership, 02-May-16
In the last Derby of the season Dundee came out winners by 2 goals to 1. They had t do it the hard way with United scoring first when Ofere put the visitors ahead after 53 minutes with a low finish. Dundee stormed back and levelled when Gadzhalov headed home to the delight of the Dundee fans. A draw was enough to put United down to The Championship.
But deep into injury time Dundee got the winning goal when Stewart played a wee pass to Craig Wighton and the young striker placed his shot into the corner to send the Dundee fans wild.
This goal put out bitter rivals down and it was good to see Dundee fans so happy with this result.

The Staggies pulled a goal back soon after and had a wee spell of pressure. But Loy scored Dundee's third on 37 minutes. Just before half-time County scored again to make the half-time score 3-2.

In the last game before the split Dundee had to win to finish in the top six, but a very poor performance and Hamilton won 2-1, the home side scored twice in the first half. Dundee Und 2, Dundee 2, Tannadice, Ladbrokes Premiership, 20-March-16
The Dundee Derby ended 2-2 in a thrilling game of football on Sunday, a big crowd was inside Tannadice for a game which both clubs needed a win. Dundee to keep their bid to finish in the top six, and United to try and climb off bottom place.
Both teams started slowly and it took a while for the first chances to fall, a shot from McGowan which did not trouble the United keeper. Dundee forced a few corners but they came to nothing, but took in the lead after 34 minutes when a long ball into the box fell nicely to Kane Hemmings and the Dundee striker kept his cool to score to send the Dundee fans wild with delight.
Dundee lost their second defender when Konrad had to leave the field with a head knock, he had earlier came on for Kosta Gadzhalov who injured a shoulder.
Dundee did make it 2-0 when a pass from McGowan send Stewart clear out wide and his cross was swept home by Hemmings to score his second goal of the game right on half time.
United came back into the came when a long ball caught out the Dundee rear guard and Scott Bain dived at the feet of McKay, the Referee send Bain off and McKay scored from the spot. After this Dundee changed to a 5-4-1 system, with striker Hemming upfront alone. Dave Mitchell came on and Nicky Low was the man to go off. United pushed forward and it took some good defending and Keeper Mitchell done well with a couple of great saves and took his crosses cleanly, but in the 92nd minute United scored to grab a point.
It was tough on the Dundee players who gave it all they had with McGowan and Kerr were outstanding. Good support from the Dundee fans today as well.

Dundee 0, Hearts 1, Dens Park, Ladbrokes Premiership, 12-March-16
Dundee lost 1-0 to Hearts in a game where Dundee could have drawn or even won. Hearts were the better side in the first half and had a few good chances which forced Scoot Bain into some good saves. Dundee did have a couple chances and Kerr and Stewart were unlucky not to score for the home side.
Hearts scored early in the second when a good pass put Walker in the clear and he rounded Bain to score via the post. But before that McGowan forced a good save from the Hearts keeper and Kerr put a effort over the bar when maybe he should have hit the target. Both teams had chances but Hearts held on to take all three points.

Dundee earned a well deserved 0-0 draw at Celtic Park on Wednesday night, a game they could have won with minutes to go Kosta Gadzhalov some how missed a header from 6 yards out when it looked easier to score. It was good to see youngster Craig Wighton and Cammy Kerr both having good games.
