Dundee earned a 1-1 draw with Hearts on Sunday which they fully deserved. Manager Neil McCann made two changes with Jon Aurtenetxe and Simon Murray replaced Kevin Holt and A-Jay Leitch Smith who were on the bench along side Craig Wighton who was in the squad for the first time this season.
Hearts started well and scored on two minutes when a good passing move set up Callaghan who fired a shot home to the joy of the Hearts support. Dundee attacked from then on and caused the Hearts defence a lot of problems, Roarie Deacon went down in the box but was adjudged to have taken a dive and was booked for the Referee. Soon after the Hearts keeper saved well from Murray who had tried a chip shot. But on 27 minutes Dundee were level good play from O'Hara set up Deacon who's cross was bundled home by Sofien Moussa at the back post. Dundee fully deserved to be level and they continued up to half time pushing Hearts back.
Second half started and Darren O'Dea was replaced by Genseric Kusunga Darren was injured in the first half and had tried to carry on. Dundee had a great chance when Caulker's header was cleared off the line and Moussa followed up but his was shot was turned round the post for a corner. With ten minutes to go Kevin Holt came on for Jon Aurtenetxe and soon after Simon Murray raced clear but instead of passing back to McGowan he went for the shot which went wide. Near the end McGowan was again unlucky when his rising shot just cleared the bar.
Dundee had to settle for a draw in the end but it could have been all three points, Hearts did not do much today and all the Dundee players gave their all. It was good to stop the run of defeats and it was much better to watch.
