Paul McGowan Signs New Deal
Dundee Midfielder Paul McGowan has signed on for another year with the option of another year. He was linked with a move to St Johnstone this week in the Scottish Sun this week.
Aberdeen 1, Dundee 0, Pittodrie, Ladbrokes Premiership, 21-March-18
Dundee lost 1-0 in a poor game at Pittodrie, going by reports Dundee were very poor and Aberdeen not far behind the dark blues. A Jay Smith-Leitch missed a one on one with the dons keeper . He Roarie Deacon hit the top of the bar. Aberdeen got the winning goal when Elliot Parrish made a mess of coming for a cross and Shinnie had a easy tap in to seal the three points for the dons
Second half was a non event for the dark blues going by reports and it's a worry for the Dundee fans on where the next goal is coming from far less points. I could have went but the kids wanted to go and see Peter Rabbit which we did it's looks like I got better value for my money than going to Aberdeen. I will be at the Hearts game on a week on Sunday.

Dundee 0, St Johnstone 4, Dens Park, Ladbrokes Premiership, 10-March-18
Manager Neil McCann made three changes to the side which lost to Motherwell two weeks ago in the Cup. A Jay Leitch -Smith, Jesse Curran and Lewis Spence replaced the suspended Paul McGowan and Glen Kamara, while Sofien Moussa dropped to the bench.
Perth Saints had the better start as Dundee struggled to get going, and lost Lewis Spence to injury on 18 minutes. Jordan Piggott came on to replace the young midfielder. But six minutes later Saints took the lead slack play from Dundee and Davidson's shot spun of Jordan Piggott with the ball ending up in the net.
Soon after Dundee had a couple of chances with Murray and Deacon going close for the dark blues. Just eight minutes before half-time and Saints go 2-0 up. Another sloppy goal to lose with Kane having a easy tap in after good play from McLean.
Second half and Moussa was on for Cammy Kerr and soon after the game was over as a contest another poor goal seen Alston score after Parrish saved the first effort from Kane. Minutes later it was 4-0 as Kane fired home to complete a poor day for the dark blues.
With the next four games against Aberdeen (H), Hearts (H) and Celtic and Rangers (Away) it looks a tough run in to the split. Lets hope Ross County and Partick Thistle struggle to pick up points or we are in big trouble.
Dundee: Parrish, Kerr, Parish, Kerr (Moussa 45), Caulker, Meekings, Aurtenetxe, Curran, Spence (Piggott 18), O’Hara, Deacon, Leitch-Smith, Murray (El Bakhtaoui 65). Subs Unused: Malherbe, Kusunga, O’Dea, Lambert

Dundee 0, Motherwell 2, Dens Park, Scottish Cup 4th Round, 10-February-18
Dundee were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Motherwell losing the game 2-0. I missed the game due to work. What I have seen the two goals were very poor. Tanner scored the first one just after 30 minute mark when his shot beat the Dundee keeper.
Worst was to follow early in the second half when Holt headed home with the Dundee keeper in no-mans land. Dundee did have chances but failed to take them on the day.
Dundee: Parish, Kusunga, O’Dea (c), Holt (Deacon 65), Kerr, O’Hara, Kamara, McGowan (Lambert 79), Aurtenetxe, Leitch-Smith, Moussa. Unused Subs: Malherbe, El Bakhtaoui, Curran, Spence, Waddell.

Dundee 1, Ross County 4, Dens Park, Ladbrokes Premiership, 03-February-18
Dundee lost 4-1 to bottom club Ross County, on the day they were very poor and County fully deserved the three points. It was a big chance for Dundee to climb the table and move clear from the bottom three.
The Staggies scored just after half time and although Kerr Waddle headed home to level the game. County scored two quick fire goals and that was added to in the final minute.
The final score was 4-1. It was a bad day at the office for the dark blues.
Dundee: Parish, Kerr, Waddell, O’Dea (c), Holt (El Bakhtaoui 89), O’Hara, Kamara (Deacon 77), McGowan, Leitch-Smith, Haber (Spence 53), Murray. Unused Subs: Malherbe, Kusunga, Aurtenetxe, Lambert.
