Latest News From Dens........................

Dundee's Scottish Cup Tie v Motherwell will be played on Sunday 9th of January 2011, it will be shown live on Sky Sports. Kick-Off time has yet to be confirmed.

Dundee's game was called off on Saturday due to the refs strike, only 4 SPL games went ahead with the SFL calling in foreign refs to make sure they went ahead. So all other SFL clubs have lost vital income.

Dundee's game v Raith Rovers was then arranged for Tuesday, but with heavy snow it has already been called off. No new date has been set yet.

Ross County 0 Dundee 3, Victoria Park, 13/November/10

In what was a early start for us getting up at 06:20, we travelled up to Dingwall to give the team our support, and I'm so glad that did. In which was the first time l've seen them win away from home this year. We arrived in the Mallard at 1pm so good timing, so we had time for some food and beer.

To the game now and as the Partick game we started positive and took the game to County , with some good passing moves early on. We took the lead on 16 minutes when Riley's cross was put away sweetly from the inform Leigh Griffiths. We kept on playing football and Riley should have scored when he missed the goals with a diving header. Craig Forsyth who had replaced Jamie Adams caught my eye with some great runs pulling the County defence all over the place. We could not add to the tally but were worth our half time lead.

Second half and County came back into the game, and for a good 10 mins put the Dundee defence under pressure , but they came through okay and broke away to get the vital second goal. A great run from Griffiths who done well to keep the ball in, he composed himself to pick out the in coming Nicky Riley to volley home for a superb goal..Vintage Dundee simple as that. Now it was Dundee time to pressure and they got the killer third goal when Griffiths broke clear he kept his cool to score with a well placed finish in the corner to send the Dundee fans wild with delight.

That was that and Dundee played out the game with ease, they looked so solid today, with their confidence must be sky after this display. With three very important games coming up in December with Cowdenbeath(H), Morton (A) and Stirling Albion (H).

Jamie Recalled

Sadly Jamie Adams has been recalled by St Johnstone, he has been in great form over the last fews weeks. With St Johnstone struggling a wee bit result wise I can see the reason for the early recall. Anyway all the best Jamie for the future.

Dundee will play Dundee United on Monday 6th of December with a 19:45 kick-off. The game will be played at Dens Park, tickets are priced at £16 for adults and £8 concessions.

Big Red Card For the SFL

Match Highlights Here  Thanks to Partick Thistle FC

Dundee 2 Partick Th 1, Dens Park, First Division, 06/November-10

Tommy Coyne
Dundee fans turned up in good numbers and their support were rewarded with a fine 2-1 victory over Partick Thistle. Before kick-off they held up their Red Cards in protest of the 25 points decision from the SFL.

Like last week Dundee opened in whirlwind fashion and attacked the Jags goal from the start, they should have scored early when O'Donnell shot wide with the goal at his mercy. Soon after a Harkins shot just flew over the bar. Partick did attack and Douglas had to save, from his throw out released Riley who cut inside fed Griffiths and Leigh hit a unstoppable 35 yard shot past ex-dee keeper Scott Fox to give the dee the lead. poor good football followed but Dundee could not get that second goal.

Second half and Partick came back into it with some good football, Dundee defended well with everyone working hard with blocks and tackles, but Partick did level scoring with a shot which went through a ruck of players to give Douglas no chance in the Dundee goal. Dundee got a second wind to attack again, but lacked the composer to finish off their moves. Soon after and Douglas made a great save to keep the score level, Forsyth came on for Riley, and Witteveen replaced Griffiths, after more Dundee pressure we finally scored when a Lockwood cross came off Jamie Adams to spin into the nets to give Dundee the lead. But back came the jags and Douglas made a tremendous save to deny Kinniburgh with minutes left. Dundee held out to seal a much needed 3 points, and it gets Barry Smith his first victory as Dundee boss.

Dundee Hit With 25 Points

Dundee were hit with a 25 point punishment for falling into administration for the second time, first time in 2003 they were a premier league club. This time we are in the Scottish football league, who have no set rules for this. I don't know where they got the 25 points from, and it will put the club 20 points behind bottom club Morton. It will mean a real fight to stay in the division. The club will appeal this decision, and the fans must fight this..I'm sure we will.

Falkirk 3 Dundee 3, Division One, 30/October/10

In what a thrilling game of football at the new brockville stadium on Saturday where both teams shared six goals. In a contest which went from end to end, and produced some excellent football from both sides.

Dundee opened at pace and were a goal up inside 2 minutes when after a blocked free kick, the ball feel to Leigh Griffiths who curled a great chip into the net. He raced up the park to celebrate with Dundee keeper Rab Douglas. Then minutes later after a slick move Griffiths scored again but was ruled offside. But the second goal was just delayed and it came after a chipped pass from Griffiths came off a Falkirk defender and Sean Higgins scored with ease to sent the Dundee fans wild with delight. For the rest of the half Dundee pushed for a third but had to settle for 2-0 lead at half-time.

Teams coming out

Second half and a more positive Falkirk came out and took the game to their hosts, but found Rab Douglas in good form. Dundee still looked dangerous and should have had a penalty when Higgins was held and pushed in the box but ref Winters waved it away. Falkirk did score after a good move put Stewart through and he scored with ease. Before Dundee could compose themselves the bairns were level when Stewart headed home pass Douglas to level the game.

Dundee sent Witteveem on for Higgins and he nearly put Dundee ahead but the Falkirk keeper saved well. But soon after after a Riley headed down to Griffiths whose came back off the post and Witteveen prodded home to spark wild celebrations from the Dundee fans. But with just 7minutes left to hold out, back came Falkirk to level again from the penalty spot when McKeown was adjusted to foul Deuchar and up stepped Miller to score to level again.

The game ended that way , but was a great game of football plenty goals action saves what you play your money for.
