Rumour has it Dundee have made a bid for Queen of the South left back Bob Harris, £30,000 plus either Brian Kerr, Paul McHale or Eric Paton.

Dundee 3 Montrose 0, Dens Park, Cis Cup 1st Round, 31/July/10

Dundee won 3-0 this afternoon in the Cis Cup at Dens Park, the dark blues were given a big boost when Rhys Weston signed a one year deal, and went straight into the team at centre half. Jamie Adams made his debut for the club in midfield.

I missed the game due to work, so can only go by reports and l will see the goals later on DFC TV. Dundee scored the first goal on 33 mins when a good pass from McKeown put Nicky Riley through and he finished with a cool chip from a tight angle. That was the half time score.

Into the second half and l send a text to my mate Dougie, to see if it was still 1-0. His reply made me smile it read " 3-0 Dees, on the rampage now" So that was Dundee safely into the next round. The other two goals came from the penalty spot after Jamie Adams was fouled in the box, up stepped Leigh Griffiths (70mins) to side foot home. Then Griffiths laid one on for MoM Nicky Riley (76mins) who smashed the ball into the top corner for a fine finish.

Dundee:Douglas, Irvine, McKeown (McHale 75), Weston, Forsyth, Riley, O'Donnell, (Paton 71), Adams, Harkins, McMenamin (Higgins 66), Griffiths. Subs not used: Fox, Kerr.

Latest News From Dens Park

Dundee beat Forfar Ath 4-1 tonight at Station Park. Manager Gordon Chisholm played the trialists who have been at the club in the last week. They included Johnny Flynn. Gordon Gilbert, Rhys Weston and Ryan McCann who is training with Dundee just now. Anyway a good work out for the players with goals from Foryth(2), McMenamin and Griffths.

Dundee will play Stenhousemuir away in the next round of the Alba Cup, the draw was made on Tuesday afternoon.

Dundee 2 Alloa Ath 1, Dens Park, Alba Cup 1st Round, 24/July/10

Dundee came from behind to snatch victory with two late goals, against a well organised Alloa Athletic side. Dundee took a while to get going, but Nicky Riley was putting in a lot of work. That was the tone for the first half, as we struggled to make any impact up front.

Into the second half and again we struggled to find any flow to our moves, with over hit or too many passes. We did have have a great chance when good play by Leigh Griffiths out wide, his cross in and somehow Antoine-Curier did not throw himself into the six yard box to get the touch. It would have been a certain goal. Alloa kept hitting on the break and took the lead when ex Ayr player Scott Walker headed home, and not long after after they were very unlucky when Scott hit the bar.

Lucky for us that Higgins and McMenamin were on for the tiring Riley and out of form Curier by this time and with just 4 minutes left McMenamin headed home powerfully to level, and with time just about up Higgins scored after a scramble in the Alloa box. His powerful shot hitting keeper Robertson before spinning high into the net.

That was that and Dundee were through, it did look like we were going out, but the two subs did the trick.

Dundee: Fox, Irvine, Forsyth, McKeown, Benedictus, Kerr, Riley, O'Donnell, Harkins, Griffths, Antoine-Curier. Subs: Douglas, McHale, Paton, McMenamin

Arbroath 1 Dundee 1, Gayfield, Friendly, 17/July/10

Dundee drew 1-1 with Arbroath at Gayfield this afternoon. The Red Litchies took in the lead in the first half when Jordyn Sheerin shot home from the edge of the box.

Second half and Rab Douglas replaces Scott Fox in goal. Dundee take the game to their hosts and go close on a few occasions, but Douglas is forced to make a couple of saves. Dundee bring on a few subs and McMenamin just about scores but the ball hits Griffiths and Arbroath clear.

After good play by the trialist leftback his pass puts Higgins clear and his shot is saved but Colin McMenamin is there to force the ball home. Both team go forward to try and get the winner, but it ends 1-1.

Dundee:Fox, Trialist, Benedictus, McKeown, Paton, Forsyth, O'Donnell, Riley, Harkins, Curier, Griffiths. Subs:McMenamin, McHale, Kerr, Higgins, Rennie, Bartlett, Gibson, Douglas.
