Dundee 0 Hamilton Accies 1, Dens Park, Division One, 24-September-11

Dundee lost their second home league game of the season to Hamilton Accies who scored the only goal midway through the second half. Dundee had Stephen O'Donnell back after suspension with Jamie McCluskey and Nicky Riley playing out wide on the flanks. Also trialist midfielder Steve Masterton was on the bench.

Dundee started brightly with Hamilton happy to hit on the break, most of our chances fell to Savo Milne but he only trouble the Hamilton keeper once when he pushed the strikers shot round the post.

Second half and Manager Barry Smith made changes with Milne going out wide with Nicky Riley going down the middle. early on and after a good run from Riley he set up O'Donnell who hit the post with a fine shot a bit of luck and it would have went in. Then Benedictus headed over when in a good position, as Dundee pushed for the opening goal. Dundee also had chances when McCluskey and Riley both failed to hit the target when a goal looked likely.

Against the run of play Hamilton grabbed the lead when a poor corner landed at the edge of the box the ball was put back in and the defence was sleeping to allow McLaughlin to head home. Dundee did try to step it up and put on trialist Masterton along with Weston and Conroy, but Hamilton kept it tight to run down the clock.

Dundee will play much worse and win games, we badly need our strikers to be fit and for someone to take our chances we are creating.
